Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our guide and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the refreshing breeze and view of the Indian Ocean will revive you after a long flight. Dinner and overnight at Mediterraneo Hotel, on a bed and breakfast basis.

After breakfast, your naturalist guide will meet you at the hotel and from there you will start driving to Nyerere National Park approximates 5-6 hour driving. You will be arriving for lunch. Then late afternoon you will do a game drive safari to explore Rufiji River and its stunning surroundings with an open-sided, canvas-roofed boat. Boat safaris are the ideal way of enjoying the close sightings of hippos, crocodiles and beautiful birdlife. Nothing quite like the tranquility of the river, with hippos honking all around you, while the sun dips down below the horizon.

After breakfast, the adventurous day starts. Enjoy full day game drive inside the park with your picnic lunch to maximize your game drive time. The world’s undisturbed flora and fauna sanctuary. Important enough to be a World Heritage Site in which the lucky few can experience a safari in an absolutely wild and unspoiled bush. These will be special days spent exploring the undisturbed wilderness and viewing the diverse wildlife including lions, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, different types of antelopes and so much more different species of birds.

Have an early breakfast then embark yourself to the morning nature hike safari accompanied by the armed park ranger. Then later depart the northern circuit to the southern part of the national park doing a full day of game drive. After breakfast, leave for Mikumi National Park with a picnic lunch. The park is nestled between the Uluguru Mountains to the northeast, and the Rubeho Mountains, Udzungwa Mountains and Rift Valley escarpment to the southwest. As the part of the Selous ecosystem, it benefits from the highest unique game density of the entire area. The vegetation of this area consists of savannah dotted with acacia, baobab, tamarinds, and some rare palm.

After your leisurely breakfast, leave with your picnic lunch ready for a full day game drive in Mikumi National Park. The park offers a unique wildlife experience with a large number of herbivores (elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras and different kinds of antelopes). The park also offers a rich variety of bird species (more than 400) identified. While on the game drive, you are likely to spot big crocodiles, hippos and of course lions and leopards.

After an early breakfast you depart will picnic lunch for the breathtaking Ruaha National Park. Ruaha National Park is located in the middle of the country, about 130 km from Iringa Region, is the second largest national park in Tanzania. The park has a dramatic topography of mountains, rivers and plains. Its ragged beauty is only outmatched by the variety and density of wildlife and exotic birdlife. The park is home to the largest population of elephants in East Africa. The great Ruaha River that borders the park in the east provides good habitat for hippos, crocodiles and attracts other animals including, greater and lesser kudus, buffalos, impalas, elands, giraffes, lions, leopards and the endangered wild dogs. Ruaha is also prime destination for birdwatchers, with 450 species been recorded so far.

You will have two full days of game drive activities deep into Ruaha National Park and walking safaris with an armed park ranger. Ruaha National Park’s main vegetation types are miombo woodland, acacia grassland and large baobab tree, all which attract a diverse number of animal species. The most preferred areas for game drive is alongside the Great Ruaha River during the day where you can witness large herds of elephant drinking and wallowing, some good number of herbivores drinking and predators as well spending most of their time around the permanent water source areas of this park.

Have your leisurely breakfast, then you will depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Park with a picnic lunch. Udzungwa Mountains is one of the East Africa great rain forest, this undisturbed habitat and undoubtedly has new treasures yet to reveal. Udzungwa is made for hiking and climbing on the trails through the rain forest and along the escarpments. The forest is home to many indigenous species of plants, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, butterflies, and insects of which some of species are found nowhere else in the world. Udzungwa is also a unique cultural site for containing caves that have been used in the spiritual traditions and rituals of nearby tribes over many years – these have remained preserved so that one can get a sense of ancient religious traditions upon visiting. Accommodation: Udzungwa Forest Camp. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
After breakfast, you will collect your picnic lunch and ready to do a half-day or full day-hike to Sanje waterfalls. There are no roads in Udzungwa, instead there are several hiking trails winding through various sections of the park. Udzungwa is more popular for the Sanje waterfalls – which plunges 550 feet through a misty spray into the forested valley below. The major attraction is biological diverse plants, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, butterfly, and insect of which some of the species are found nowhere else in the world. After trekking you will return back to the lodge. You can also visit cultural and tradition sites if time allows.
